You're probably wondering just how amorphous, complex, and nerdy this game will get. The answer is "the most."

As mentioned in a previous letter, the game will start in earnest in the next week or two and will involve solving 8 or so different puzzles on 8 random days to ultimately figure out 8 words. Points will be awarded for each word you get, plus big points will be awarded for solving the final puzzle (which will be revealed at the end). But points will also be awarded for blowing someone's cover (figuring out what code name belongs to whom) and for finding the location of someone's dead drop (and points deducted for having your cover blown and your dead drop found - so be careful).

Points will also be awarded arbitrarily when someone does something really badass and spy-like, or something that's just amusing.

At some point a live scoreboard will be up and functional for everyone to keep track. Until then, prepare yourself mentally and emotionally by starting to think like a spy.
